THE ACHIEVER IN PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographer Evangelino F. Famarin, a native of Banton, Romblon now residing in Dipolog, City and a teacher by profession had been winning in various photo competitions held locally, nationally and internationally. Since the time photographer Famarin started participating in whatever photo contests conducted elsewhere, his aim is always to represent the country, for he believes that by joining the contest and bringing the name of one’s nation will already educate and serve the country. Especially so, that his entries are all about the promotions of Filipino values, traditions and practices. Artist photographer Famarin is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts from the Philippine College of Arts and Trades and Central Institute of Technology, Manila. He finished Master of Arts in Education from the University of Mindanao in Davao City and that he has also earned 52 units leading to Doctor of Education taken at the GIMIN, Davao City. Previously, he was connected as a teacher with the University of Mindanao, Davao City, where he acquired his skills in painting and photography. He taught Humanities, Art Education, Practical Arts, and Social Science subjects in college. Presently, he teaches in one of the schools of the Division of City Schools of Dipolog City.

Famarin boasts of a long list of winnings in photography, the major ones are as follows:

  6. First Prize, National Photo Documentation on Rural and Urban Categories
  7. First Prize, National Photo Documentation on Kayamanang Pampamayanan, Urban category, sponsored by PCCA and DECS, December l0, l99l
